This page shows the major features of the standard LN2 in-line channel module (illustrated on the right - click on panel for a full scale drawing). 32 conventional bus/group outputs are provided as standard, but for smaller applications these may be presented as 16 groups or multiple sub-groups. Control features provided as standard include: - PAN control to select odd or even bus. - ST1 to select master stereo bus direct. - DIRECT assigns the channel post fader output direct to the multitrack input. The routing matrix may be used to send the channel signal to other group outputs. - GROUP MIX level adjusts the final bus/group output level to track. - MIC INPUT - CHANNEL INPUTS (2). The line input amplifier has a gain range of +/-15dB and a balanced input impedance of 10k ohm. The second line input may have a maximum preset gain prior to the gain control of 12dB. This input therefore interfaces low level synths etc. to console line level. Line 2 to monitor replaces the tape LI/LO input at the incoming level. The monitor section may be sourced to post-channel fader by using MIX status, MIX+TAPE sources the monitor tape return point at the patch. - PHASE REVERSAL operates on the channel signal, post the microphone/line input amplifiers. - 5 BAND EQUALIZER. All controls are continuously variable, +/-15dB of gain provided along with a range of 0.5 to 2.5 Q control. - MID 1 and MID 2. First and second parametric sections giving precise control over mid and high frequency material. - EQ TO MONITOR PATH SWITCHING. The parametric or bass and treble sections may be switched independently into the monitor path. The monitor path is fitted with its own EQ IN/OUT switch. - TREBLE. This section has a shelving response. - BASS. The swept bass equalizer may be set to bell or shelving response. - HIGH PASS FILTER. A -12dB/octave filter is permanently in the channel path and unaffected by the EQ in/out switch. - 8 MONO AUXILIARY SENDS/2STEREO CUE SENDS. The auxiliary and cue sends may be switched pre/post either the short or long fader. In post, the source switches automatically with status setting. - 5 LOCAL STATUS control switches allow individual channels to be separated from the master status control of the console. - The SAFE removes the channel from the solo in place system. Pressing SOLO in this situation produces PFL or AFL at the monitor. - A white illuminated CHANNEL ON switch mutes the channel at the fader and includes all aux/cue post fader outputs. - Two switches allow the channel to be muted via the master M1 and M2 mute lines. - A red illuminated switch provides SOLO IN PLACE, AFL or PFL as dictated via master switches at the centre of the console, or individually on each channel. In AFL/PFL mode, the red lamp flashes. - A green/red LED has a dual roll in providing visual indication of signal levels. Greater than -12dBV the LED shows green, and red for peak levels in a preset range of +12 to +18dBV. The attack time is fast and indicates, for examples, a drumbeat. Console Masters - Central Section Both the LN2 and LN3 consoles are equipped with a centre section comprising four master modules for the auxiliary/cue, talkback, oscillator, meter status selection and up to six echo returns. Extra ER modules may be added to the frame, two stereo returns per module. A keyboard area is standard at the console centre to include either Optifile VCA, or Uptown moving faders system Type 990 or 2000. If a 19 inch bay is required, the master module area is expanded to 12 modules wide and 4U of free rack space would be available. Click here for an illustration of the console masters |
